What is Trix?

Trix (تركس), also known as Complex or Kings, is a multi-contract card game hugely popular across the Arab world. What makes Trix unique is that it's actually five games in one — each round, the 'king' (the player whose turn it is to choose) selects one of five different contracts, each with completely different rules. From avoiding tricks to collecting diamonds to dodging queens, Trix demands versatility and strategic thinking. It's a favorite in cafés throughout the Middle East and one of the most engaging card games you'll find.

How to Play Trix

Trix is a 4-player card game with 5 unique contracts:

1. Setup: 4 players each receive 13 cards. One player is designated the 'King' who chooses the contract.
2. Choose Contract: The King picks from: No Tricks (Lotoosh), No Diamonds, No Queens, No King of Hearts, or Trix (sequences).
3. Play: Follow the rules of the chosen contract. Each contract has different objectives — avoiding certain cards, collecting tricks, or building sequences.
4. Scoring: Points (usually negative) are assigned based on the contract. After all 4 players have been King once (20 total contracts), the player with the highest score wins.
